Hartmann Talks Premieres with MARINA

“Hartmann Talks” had its recent premiere in the early afternoon of March 13, 2023 featuring the officers with the most relevant updates from the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).

“Hartmann Talks” guested two officers from MARINA, namely Mr. Herbert Nalupa, OIC Chief of its Public Information Division, and Mr. Timothy Vitan, Senior Industry Development Specialist.

Making it more relevant to the milieus of the 21st century maritime industry, “Hartmann Talks” invited Mr. Nalupa to enlighten the audiences, both in-person and virtual on its FB Live coverage, where he highlighted two most important developments in the agency. These are the e-certification through MARINA Integrated Seafarers Management Online (MISMO) System and the government’s response to the European Commission Assessment.

He prided in his talk, “This (MISMO) is one of a kind in Asia,the first fully-digitalized certification system.” He added that it would be more convenient and easier to apply or update certification through the use of MISMO through this link: https://online-appointment.marina.gov.ph.

Furthering his discussion, he underscored the positive responses and efforts of the government to keep the Philippine maritime industry and the seafarers abreast with global demands and standards. He also assured the audiences of the government’s support to keep the Philippine maritime industry to continue to be recognized in the global maritime business. On a sidelight, he thanked HCP’s initiatives and contributions in upholding high standards in its operations and services that have impact in the country’s maritime growth and development.

In the same FB Live premiere, Dr.Jeff Rex Calumbay, President of Intership Navigation Training Center (ISNTC), HCP’s training arm, refreshed the audiences on the Four C’s or the values and soft skills that Hartmann employees should imbibe to become successful leaders and members of the company.

On the other hand, Ms. Divina Repedro, HCP’s Chief Financial Officer, reminded those who are present to exploit the use of the company’s social media and online platforms whenever they have queries or if they need assistance. She pointed out the Hartmann’s core value of integrity in serving people, its commitment and inclusive culture among its members and stakeholders that work positively towards successful innovations and collaborations. Likewise, she expounded on the advantages of health care benefits of the company.

Mr. Giovanni Tuapin, HCP President, opened the premiere of “Hartmann Talks” with his invigorating welcome remarks on the new format of the show. He was also the one who closed the program with a note of encouragement to more collaboration and productivity.

“Hartmann Talks” will produce more relevant and interactive episodes that will help, enlighten, encourage, and inspire HCP employees, seafarers, and stakeholders in facing challenging issues and concerns in the maritime industry.
