HCP back in Davao for summer soap-making workshop

Last April 14, Saturday, at the DMMA College of Southern Philippines, over 30 participants composed of Hartmann Crew Philippines (HCP) crew families participated in a full-day soap making workshop.

Participants of Davao Soap Making seminar 2018

It was a complete livelihood training event with discussions on how to source raw materials, costing, and marketing strategies should they want to upgrade their soap-making into a business.

The speaker was Ms. Emily Diaz, an entrepreneur and skills trainer who has been around the country sharing her knowledge and expertise.

Participants learned making a liquid dish washing soap, liquid hand soap, liquid all-purpose soap, bar detergent soap, powder soap, glycerin herbal (transparent bath soap) soap, liquid bleach, fabric softener, car soap, and liquid detergent soap which they were able to take home after.

This seminar is the first leg of HCP’s annual visit to the provinces, wherein various learning sessions and workshops are offered for free to families of its seafarers. The next leg will be in the Visayas where HCP plans to hold its first agribusiness workshop.

This seminar is part of the company’s continuing efforts to live out its mantra of building careers, preserving families, and strengthening a nation.

HCP would like to thank Davao Merchant Marine Academy, Maritime Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and Golden Treasure Skills and Development Program for making this event possible.
