How Not to be a Victim: Awareness and Krav Maga Self-Defense Workshop for HCP Wives and Families

September-14-2019

Prevention is indeed better than cure, especially with the many dangers surrounding us every day. That is why we invited HCP wives and families to hang out and learn Krav Maga as self-defense in potentially dangerous situations.

Mr. Henry Yang of International Krav Maga Federation Philippines emphasizes that it is best to have awareness and common sense to distance yourself from dangerous situations. However, in case the worst-case scenario happens, do everything you can to salvage yourself (and your companion) from the attacker.

Henry Yang of IKMF discusses how to prevent an attack by early detection and avoidance

The participants learned the basics on how to stay away from danger and how to defend yourself from physical attacks, knife threats, and kidnap from behind. Exercises and simulation of scenarios had the participants experience and practice applying the various techniques learned.

Why learn Krav Maga for self-defense?

Self-defense is not about getting into trouble. Instead, it is having awareness and strategically assessing, defeating, and surviving an attack. From the busy streets we pass by every day, to public spaces we share with different people, and even in the comfort of your own vehicle or home, danger might come unexpectedly. Learning Krav Maga for self-defense is a skill we don’t want to use but we need it. Better safe than sorry, right?

This event was organized to help keep HCP families safe, as we continue to live out the company’s mantra of building careers, preserving families, and strengthening a nation.

Shout out to our delightful participants and the International Krav Maga Federation for making this purposeful event possible. Check out more photos here.
