HCP to seafarers’ wives: Think beautiful, Feel beautiful

While it’s a tough job being a seafarer, the hard work of their spouses left at home also deserves salutation and support.

Last November 10, Hartmann Crew Philippines (HCP) organized a one-day free seminar for the wives of its seafarers to teach them a way of managing stress and keeping their confidence through mindfulness meditation. It was also followed by a skincare and makeup class.

Think Beautiful

HCP once again invited Mr. Randolf M. Bustamante — a practitioner of mindfulness meditation, this time for the wives of the crew.

They underwent the same workshop of actual meditation practice and lecture which the seafarers and employees also took this year.

Bustamante clarified that though it does not promise to eliminate stress, meditation will aid them in being able to regulate one's mind to respond to problems and situations clearly and mindfully. The seminar also promoted the value of self-care and being kind to ourselves in order to be kind to others.

Feel Beautiful

Participants also took a skin care class care of Mary Kay Philippines.

They were taught skin care tips based on their skin type, as well as basic makeup application for that everyday natural look even when they’re home.

“We understand the extra mile that a wife of a seafarer has to go through in order to maintain a healthy family life. That’s why HCP constantly provides these kinds of activities to support our families and stay true to our mantra of building careers, preserving families and strengthening a nation”, said Michaela Gomez, head of Corporate Communication and Family Center, while giving thanks to all attendees.
