A Love To Keep: A Pre-Valentines Special celebrated by Hartmann Crew Philippines
The life of a seafarer is met with many challenges, one of which is preserving and nurturing the relationship that exists between husband and wife.
As a way to alleviate such social consequences that come with the maritime profession, Hartmann Crew Philippines (formerly Associated Ship Management) invited its crew and their respective wives to “A Love To Keep”, a special pre-valentines workshop held at Tagaytay Highlands last January 30 and 31, 2016.
The workshop was facilitated by Mrs. Cynthia Gavino of the Ateneo Center for Family Ministries (Ateneo CEFAM). It was a whole day workshop that tackled various topics such as Emotional Needs, Intimacy, and Keeping the Romance Alive Across the Seas. It also included different activities like letter writing, the renewal of vows, and a few games tailor-made for couples.
“We’re very proud of our seafarers and the careers they’ve built—but this would not have been possible without the love and support of their respective spouses and their families. Programs such as “A Love To Keep” are a way for us to thank our couples while also providing for them the tools and support to help them nourish their relationship,” said Nel Gomez, VP of Hartmann Crew Philippines. In addition to the workshop, the seafarers and their wives were also treated to an overnight stay at the Tagaytay Highlands resort.
The event culminated with a festive dinner wherein attendees had a chance to sing with a live band and dedicate songs to one another. “A Love To Keep” has been a regular program of Hartmann Crew Philippines (formerly Associated Ship Management) since 2009. It is an embodiment of its company mantra of Building Careers, Preserving Families, and Strengthening a Nation.
