DOTS 2019: HCP Gets Onboard with Gender Equality
This year, Hartmann Crew Philippines (HCP) held an early Day of the Seafarer celebration last June 20, 2019 in their office at Malate, Manila. Maritime may be perceived as a profession solely for men, but with this year’s Day of the Seafarer theme “I Am Onboard with Gender Equality,” the women in maritime are in the spotlight.
The event commenced with different booths for our seafarers and their families to enjoy. Keeping in check with wellness, AMOSUP gave free medical check-ups and I.D. issuance for our seafarers. Free eye check-ups were also provided by Gel N’ Gab optical.

Philippine National Bank also set-up a booth for our seafarer’s financial needs. And of course, there’s free haircut by Deme’s Barbershop and massage by SR Food Phils.

Women in maritime does not only pertain to female seafarers onboard, it also includes our land-based staff and seafarers’ wives as well. In the afternoon, “Kapihan with CCFC” featured a financial literacy workshop facilitated by a financial advisor and a wife of an HCP crew herself, Mrs. Jeniffer Pagalunan.
